Our Philosophy

We Keep it Affordable:

As a single traveler, roaming the globe with friends, we’d look for the cheapest accommodation possible. A busy hostel where you could stay for $10 a night was ideal. When we began traveling together as a couple, the idea of sleeping in hostel bunk bed with 15 other strangers seemed less appealing. We have grown out of our hostel days, but we still have found ways to make our travels affordable. We focus on finding the best hotels, flights, and experiences without a hefty price tag. We won’t sacrifice quality, but we will help you plan your next trip without breaking the bank.

We Keep it Active:

A tourist sees what’s going on around them in their destination; a traveler experiences. In order to experience your destination, you must be active, you must take the extra step to explore your destination on a deeper level. As Daniel Boorstin so aptly points out: ” the traveler was active, he went strenuously in search of people, of adventure, of experience. The tourist is passive; he expects interesting things to happen to him.”  Our goal is to help our readers travel actively and find new experiences to better connect with their destination,

We Keep it Concise:

There is a reason Twitter only allows 140 characters per tweet- no one wants to read an endless monolog!

When reading some other travel blogs we would often find ourselves reading 10 paragraphs of personal reflection and opinion from travelers when all we wanted to know was where they stayed, restaurants they ate at and what they did.  We make the information you need easy to find. For each city we visit, we create an overview page where you will find all the basic information you need to plan your trip: when to go, costs, where to stay, where to eat, and what to do.  You won’t have to comb through hundreds of blog posts to get the important information you need to plan your trip.
